Security Guard (Part-Time)

Security Guard
Part-Time Position
Pay Rate: $17.82/ hour

Works under the supervision of the Department of Parks and Public Properties.

Hours: 20 – 30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

• Notify police in case of serious violations of parks rules or laws that may require police authority or emergency medical attention
• Watch for activity of unruly park patrons, disperse unruly groups
• Report damages to property and equipment
• Be familiar with park rule and ordinances
• Report maintenance problems
• Remedy minor problems in the park
• Maintain contact with both Police and Parks Department
• Communicates with Board of Recreation staff in the parks
• Must have the ability to effectively deal with the public
• Must be able to assess critical situations and work alone
• Must have good oral and written communication skills
• Be visible to the public
• May be assigned to other city locations

Additional hours may be available throughout the year working at the Woman’s Club Pavilion at Lakewood Park and/or City Hall.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with less than eight (8) points. Must successfully pass drug screening and background check.
