Lakewood City Council Accepting Applications for Ward 4 Vacancy

Following Councilwoman Cindy Marx’s announcement that she will resign from the Ward 4 Office of Council on December 31, 2025, Lakewood City Council is accepting applications for the Ward 4 position.  Per the City Charter, an applicant must be a city resident for at least one year, a registered Lakewood voter, and live in Ward 4 to qualify for consideration.

Applicants may review the Council Member job description by clicking here to determine if they have the time, skills, knowledge, and experience to meet the expectations of this demanding and public-facing role.

Interested and qualified individuals must submit a cover letter and resume in PDF format to the Clerk of Council at council@lakewoodoh.gov. Optionally, candidates may also coordinate letters of support to be sent to Council@lakewoodoh.gov. All letters should contain the sender’s name and address.

Applications and letters of support will be accepted until January 2, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Council will meet in Committee of the Whole on Monday January 5th to review the applications and establish the next steps in the selection process.
