The Rules & Ordinances Committee addresses legislation referred to it by Council regarding ministerial updates to the Lakewood Codified Ordinances. In 2018, the Rules & Ordinances Committee deliberated on a large body of legislation intended to align the Codified Ordinances with the newly adopted Third Amended Charter. In 2022, the Committee helped to establish a Shoreline Improvement District to assist homeowners with financing erosion control projects.

The Rules & Ordinances Committee meets as-needed on Monday evenings in the City Hall Auditorium and is usually joined by the City’s Law Director.
