Homestead Exemption
On May 5, 2025 City Council adopted Ordinance 15-2025 expanding eligibility from $35,000 gross income to $40,000 adjusted gross income, excluding non-taxable portion of social security. Due to this update, the City is temporarily extending the application deadline for 2025 to June 30th.
You may qualify for reduced water and sewer rates under the Homestead Exemption if you are at least 65 years of age or totally disabled, live in the home, and have an adjusted gross income of not more than $40,000 annually.
Applications for the Homestead Exemption can be downloaded by clicking here. Please note that you must renew annually. In 2025, the deadline to renew has been extended to June 30, 2025.
