Lakewood’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will hold the first Public Hearing associated with the City’s FY26 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plan on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 6pm in the Auditorium on the second floor of Lakewood City Hall (12650 Detroit Avenue).
The CAC reviews requests for federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding submitted by City departments and not-for-profit agencies then makes recommendations to Lakewood City Council regarding the allocation of these funds during the coming year.
Hearing topics include descriptions of the CDBG and ESG programs; preliminary estimates of the City’s FY26 federal funding awards; Lakewood’s citizen participation process with regard to federal funding; the City’s high priority housing and non-housing community and economic development needs and goals.
The CAC will hear presentations from applicants for FY26 CDBG and ESG funding on August 20, August 27, and September 3, 2025, then conduct its 2nd FY26 Public Hearing on September 10, 2025 at 6pm in the Lakewood City Hall Auditorium. If necessary, the Committee will convene a third Public Hearing regarding Lakewood’s FY26 Annual Action Plan in Spring 2026 after HUD notifies the City regarding its actual FY26 federal funding awards.
All CAC meetings are properly noticed, open to the public, and conclude with a Comment Period. Citizen feedback received during the hearing will be included in the City’s FY26 HUD Annual Action Plan submission.
