The Lakewood Police Department and Lakewood Fire Department will be hosting a Summer Safety Days Program for children ages 4-10 and their parents at Lakewood Park. Children participating in this program will gain a better understanding of safety as well as engage in personal interaction with safety forces. The program will include presentations by the Lakewood Police Department, the Lakewood Fire Department, and the Cleveland MetroParks. Kids will also have the opportunity to check out a police and fire vehicles, an armored vehicle, and the State of Ohio Fire Safety Trailer.
The four-hour program will be offered on Tuesday, July 15th and Wednesday, July 16th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Each child must be accompanied by an adult to this program. Pre-registration is required. There is a limit of 40 children per session. Registered kids will receive a gift bag and lunch. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase lunch.
Children will interact with officers and firefighters and participate in age appropriate activities including:
- A coloring station with PD coloring books as well other coloring/painting activities provided by Cove Community Center
- Water balloon station/toss
- Sensory Tables station
