Please Complete The Community Survey To Help Develop Our Active Transportation Plan
February 01, 2023Active Transportation Plan – Community Survey
Over the coming year, the City will be working in partnership with the Lakewood City School District and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to develop an Active Transportation Plan.
As defined by ODOT, Active Transportation encompasses human-powered transportation that engages people in healthy physical activity while they travel from place to place (walking, bicycling, etc.). This planning effort was born out of a need to update our Bike Master Plan (2011), complete a district-wide Safe Routes to School (SRTS) School Travel Plan, and integrate guidance from new programs such as Safe Streets for All (SS4A). Given the variety of needs, the City applied for and was awarded ODOT assistance and funding, partnering with the School District and contracting with Toole Design, to help develop this new more comprehensive plan that seeks to make walking and biking more comfortable for all people and improve safety for all modes of transportation.
In support of this effort, all residents are encouraged to use the below links to take a biking & walking survey and/or use the interactive online map to tell us your priorities for Lakewood’s streets!
