Police News Release
August 28, 2018On Thursday June 28, 2018, a motor vehicle crash occurred in the intersection of Marlowe and Franklin. The crash resulted in the death of Nora E. Swift-Kakusa, 43 yrs old of Lakewood. The crash was investigated by the Lakewood Police Department with the assistance of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Lakewood Prosecutors office.
The facts of the case were presented to the Lakewood Prosecutors office. Zane T. Havlin, 25 yrs old of Lakewood, has been charged with Vehicular Manslaughter (2903.06/ M-2) and Operations at a Stop Sign (331.19).
Mr. Havlin’s initial appearance in court is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
